About the Foundation and its Philosophy
What is El Cauce?
El Cauce is a community based on a meaningful approach to life, focused on supporting people with disabilities from a holistic perspective of the human being. We are inspired by an anthroposophical vision and principles such as respect, cooperation, and the development of each person’s potential.
What values inspire El Cauce?
El Cauce is a community initiative rooted in the interrelationship between people, the earth, and the cosmos. We promote respect for the dignity of every being, stewardship of nature, the value of purposeful work and active cooperation in community.
How is El Cauce linked to biodynamic agriculture?
We practice biodynamic agriculture, a form of farming that considers the power of the cosmos and the vitality of the Earth. We do not use chemicals or pesticides, but rather special preparations that strengthen the life of the soil, plants, and animals. It is work in harmony with the rhythms of nature and human relationships.
Participation and Community
What is the process for becoming part of the community?
We invite you to participate in our activities, open workshops and events or volunteer opportunities. We believe in human connection, which is why it is important to start with shared experiences, to get to know each other and build a progressive bond.
Can people with any type of disability participate?
Each situation is evaluated individually, taking into account specific needs and the possibilities for integration into the community environment.
Are there caregivers at El Cauce?
We do not have caregivers on our permanent team. People who need constant assistance can participate in events and open activities accompanied by their personal caregivers.
Is it a therapeutic space? Do you have therapists?
El Cauce does not offer conventional therapies, but the entire environment has a profound therapeutic effect: contact with nature, community life, meaningful work, and mutual care.
Is there a fee to live at El Cauce?
The short answer is yes, at least during our pioneer phase. At present there is no support for independent living for adults with disabilities in Argentina, and we rely on contributions from the residents to cover the costs of living in El Cauce. We strongly hope that economics are not a barrier to participation and we evaluate each case individually.
El Cauce endeavors to be productive and self-sustaining in the long term, with the well-being of the residents and community always the top priority. Our mission is sustained by a solidarity model based on donations and voluntary contributions. Long-term residents will always have a home at El Cauce.
